God is Good!

All I need to say is that this last few days have been up and down. I have not posted in a few days not because I have not been doing my Devotional but just because I have taken in so much that I didn’t know what to post.

Genesis 8 will blow your mind. Look at Noah’s life as your own life. Read it today and pull out what God is trying to tell you. As you read the end of Genesis 8 take a careful look at what Noah does as he gets off the Ark.

My prayer: Lord I want to be a man that is after your heart. I love and respect you. You don’t command that I worship you and yet I want to knowing that it brings you a sweet smell. Today Dad just hang out with me and my wife. I want to be the Husband that you see I am. Please forgive me of my sins and allow me to forgive those that have hurt me. Thank you for the gifts in my life and for blessing my family even though we don’t always see them. Heal my wounds if you see fit and dad happy Monday, fathers day, and happy blessing day.

Quiet Please

Today I was reminded why at times God is so close and other times he seams so far away. Noah after entering the ark did not hear from God for 377days. That must have been hard for Noah. He had this growing relationship with the God of creation. He was chosen to be set apart and save the human race. And then nothing for over a year.

God gives us quiet so that we can grow in our understanding. It is through tribulation that we grow in patience, experience and hope. So just think that when you are going through rough seas God is still there with you he is just giving you quiet times so that you will Grow more in love with him.

Prayer- Lord I know that you are with me and that in me deepest part of who I am you are there. When you see fit I ask quit please. I ask Lord that you would stand by me so that when I am about to fall you will pick my up and carry me until I am strong enough to walk again. I love you Lord keep me and my family safe.

Will you lead me Father?

Jeremiah is my son and I want him to grow up to be a strong man of God, who will trust and obey when he is older. But that will only happen if someone shows him how to be that man of God.

Today in my reading I came across a few things that made me want to be the spiritual leader of my family. Looking at the life of Noah as he and his family entered the ark made me reexamine Noah’s life a little closer. Reread Genesis 7:13 and you will find that Noah entered the ark first then this family (including the wives of his sons). Now I have read that a few time before and it never stood out to me. But this time God unveiled a mystery to me. Noah went in first.

That’s right Noah went First. Men, Dads, Fathers, are you going in first. Noah lead his family.

God gave us a family so that we could point them to the cross. Not drag, push, or yell until they get to the cross, but Point them. The very best way for them to be pointed to the cross is by the father leading by example. Having a real relationship with the God of heaven. Lets look at a few times when God used a father to lead his family. Acts 10, Acts 16:31, Hebrews 11:7 and all the passover where the whole family was saved by the lambs blood on the door post Exodus 12:13.

God gave me a family so that I could pour into them all that I have learned from God. That means I need to learn form God so I can pour into them.

I am willing to learn and build my relationship with God in order to Go In First just like Noah. Are you?

Two by Two?

Come with me to a place many years ago. Back to a time when the earth was full of people and Sin. Noah was instructed to build a ark that when he was finished would save him and his family. The Ark would also provide salvation for two of every animal (not water living ones).

Are you with me!

In a world much like today God came down and took Noah aside and spoke with him. Build an ark and you will live. His heart must have been full of excitement to know God was talking to him. God told him that the Ark would be full of each kind of animal. I would have been like come on really. No way! But Noah built the ark and probably to his amazement saw animals two by two come onto the ark.

So I have to ask How did he fit all the animals on there? Well the  Ark had about 97,000 square feet of space. According to John Courson that is about five hundred twenty boxcars.  When you do the math the animals fit into 240 of the boxcars and that would leave 280 for Noah and his family.

So that means that God did some cool things with Noah and his family.

Now God did all of this to give Noah and his family new life. That is what we must remember when we look at the Bible. God also sent his Son Jesus to live and to die so that we can have a new life. There was a door on the Ark that allowed Noah and his family to be safe from the storm. In our lives we go up and down in the storms of this life and we too have a door to salvation. All we have to do is call upon the name of the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.

Genesis 6:22 “Thus did Noah(Eric); according to all that God commanded him, so did he.” Again I want to end my live and this sentence to be at the end.

What do you want at the end of your life?
