Of all the things I’ve lost

Of all the things I’ve lost…
Matthew 18:10-14
Pastor Kerry Warren

Matthew 18:10-14
10 See that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven. 11 For the Son of man came to save that which was lost. 12 How think ye? if any man have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and go unto the mountains, and seek that which goeth astray? 13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth over it more than over the ninety and nine which have not gone astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

1. In Matthew 18, we gat a glimpse of the nature of life in his kingdom and God’s heart.

The angles are also watching over God’s children.
We some times wander away.

Do you feel lost with no direction. Well God knows where you are and can make you a path.
Matt10:16

2. Here believers are led astray through a variety of temptations.
Matt7:15
It can be many that led others astray. When we leave the flock it’s our own doing.

3. When a sheep goes astray, the shepherd goes immediately to search for it.

4. The sheep don’t look for the shepherd, but the shepherd looks for the sheep.

The shepherd will bind the wounds and carry the sheep back to safety.

“And if” in vs. 13

5. God rejoices when we are found

There is more rejoiceing over the one being found the for the 99 that stayed.

Great in the eyes of Jesus

Great in the eyes of Jesus
Matthew 18:1-9
Pastor Tom Lance

Matthew 18:1-9

Chapter 18

1 In that hour came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven? (also found in Luke 9:46) 2 And he called to him a little child, and set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me: 6 BUT whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depth of the sea.
7 Woe unto the world because of occasions of stumbling! for it must needs be that the occasions come; but woe to that man through whom the occasion cometh! 8 And if thy hand or thy foot causeth thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life maimed or halt, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire. 9 And if thine eye causeth thee to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.

1. The disciples wanted to be great but Jesus spoke of humility.
*we don’t always live like we should.
*Three things that made a Person Great was
Righteousness
Knowledge Of the law
Willing to die for the cause

*What Jesus said will make a person great.
A choice to become child like
Matt5:20 Right living- righteousness
Matt7:21 Doing the will of the father
Philippians 2:2-3

2. Stumbling blocks in the Church?
How do people stumble?
Watching out actions
When we over look our sins. Or over look other believers sins.
We make fun of the new choices.

In your talk, walk, and life style is there any thing that might be causing others to stumble.

We all have our issues but we need to search our life’s and seek to change what is causing others to stumble.

3. This warning is more redemptive than punitive.

If what your doing causes others to stumble then this warning means that you should take every action to change what your doing.

Sometimes it has to be violent, is what Jesus was trying to say. Make the change, stop it, seek God’s help.

4. What does right living and humility look like today.
Are you humble?
Do you know that you are nothing with out God?
What type of role model are you to others?

Who is nap time for?

As I sit here typing I hear Jeremiah crying in the room next to me as he is protesting his nap time. I begin to wonder Who is nap time for any way? Me or him? I know it is good for him to take a nap in the middle of the day but I also know that when he takes a nap I feel better about my day also. I cant help but think that we all need a little nap time here and there. Not just to sleep but so the kids can sleep and we can get some things done around the house, LIKE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES. Alright not really I need to pay bills first and then shower and lets not forget work out…

When potty is the word of the day!

We are working with Jeremiah to potty train himself. I have to say that he is doing a good job for being only 21 months. He has learned where to go pee but does not go in the potty yet. Today I plan on changing that.

How you may be asking?

We are giving him a lot water and every 15 min having him try to pee in the potty. I know that it is in his timing but he shows great signs and also does not want to be change by any one else. Today I took his shirt off and he covered himself up in embarrassment. It was so cute.

Becca is home now and Jeremiah is asking for daddy… Becca says he is in the computer room and

Jeremiah ask WHY?- (Let the Whys begin).
