Forget You - 1

He must become greater; I must become less. John 3:30

To mature physically we INCREASE but, to mature spiritually we DECREASE!

BEING LESS ABOUT ME AND MORE ABOUT JESUS MEANS:

1. I LOSE MY FOCUS

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith... Hebrews 12:2

2. I LOSE MY STUFF

Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income.... Ecclesiastes 5:10

No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. Matthew 6:24

3. I LOSE MY LIFE

39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. (Matthew 10:39)

GOD HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU

Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! Isaiah 49:15

How many of you read with your kids once a week or more?

I dont get many chances right now to read to mu son because I am far away in the navy.  Today he made my day by putting down his cars and pulling out some books so that we could read together. If you don't read with your kids already, then spend time reading a few books a week with them they will love you for it. If you do read what kind of books do they like?

THE SEDUCED SOUL

DETHRONING THE IDOLS OF OUR SOULS

1)      IDENTIFY THE IDOLS OF OUR SOULS.

Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol. Psalm 24:3-4

2)      TEAR DOWN OUR IDOLS.

…Tear down your father's altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole beside it.Judges 6:25

21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." Mark 10:21

3)      FILL YOUR SOUL WITH GOD.

2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Psalm 84:2

9 For (God) satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.Psalm 107:9 ESV

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.  2 My soulthirsts for God, for the living God… Ps 42:1-2

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in his wonderful face.
And the things of the earth will grow strangely dim.
