Today one verse stood out so much that it I had to pause and think about it.

Genesis 13:10
10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the Plain of the Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before Jehovah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Jehovah, like the land of Egypt, as thou goest unto Zoar.

What does it mean to you?

For me this put a thought that maybe I looked short when trying a few years ago to see where God wants me. Some people see that it was a good choice but I left everything so that my will could be done. I picked a place with a good land and money not because it was good for me and my family.

Lord please forgive me for the things I have done out side of your will. Thank you Jesus for my life and everything in it.

Today I was reading in Genesis 12 and Abram went down into Egypt. And Jon talked about how everytime we see people Go into egypt it is always down. In the Bible Egypt is a picture of the world. Now the father of faith was heading to the promise land and heard that a famine was coming. What does he do he take things into his own hands and goes into the world.

Where are you right now are you heading to the land God has called you to. Or are you heading to the world.

May the God of our fathers bless you while you answer that.

How God provides.

1 Kings 17:7-16
7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land. 8 And the word of Jehovah came unto him, saying, 9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Sidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain thee.

Side note: (God provided for him it may not be they way we want but he still provides. )

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. 11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thy hand. 12 And she said, As Jehovah thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in the jar, and a little oil in the cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. 13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said; but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it forth unto me, and afterward make for thee and for thy son. 14 For thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, The jar of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that Jehovah sendeth rain upon the earth. 15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat[ many] days. 16 The jar of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spake by Elijah.

• the lord normally comes at the last moment.
• when the brook dried up
• Gods provision is not always what we expect or pray for or even want. It is what God wants for us and it is what we need.
• what God is want to hear is Am I number one in your life?
• Elijah obeyed what the word of the Lord said.

3. Why did God choose a poor widow to help?
• some times the Lord will pick a path we don't or won't understand.
• God will always be there for you. Do you believe that?

Who do you trust, who is your provider?

4. What is Gods message to us today through Elijah?

• God loves all people
Do you care for all people
• There is not a time when we can stop relying on God
• God honors faith
•God honors those who put others first

Five questions to ask yourself today

1. Are there idols in your life? Money!
2. Are we obedient to Gods word? Yes!
3. Do we have faith that God will provide? Yes!
4. Do we pray? Yes!
5. Do we put others first, do we care for all people? Sometimes!

When God say's something Just Do It.

Who do you trust, who is your provider? I want rely on you God for all my needs. I want what you what for me.
