Nagging Questions

Nagging Question 08SEP17

Pastor Gene Roncone

1. Will Highpoint focus on the right thing?

On one side you have people that believe Jesus was here to help them grow and keep us inward
Other side is getting people healthy and focused on outreach.
What will you focus on?
I want to focus on the right thing.
2. Will Highpoint reach the right people?
Jesus wanted to touch the sick and the hurting?
The enemy try's to get us to focus on ourselves instead of looking outward on the needs of those around us.
The word sinner meant people that rejected Gods law.
Jesus called the Sinners SICK! He wanted them to he healed.
3. Will we be driven by the right passion?
Are we driven like the P with the Do mentality always trying to earn the our place or are we driven by seeing the sick and wanting to help them because Gods grace is bigger.
Grace is the action behind mercy.

- stepping out and really reaching lost people.
What type of emotion will we have when we see those who are sick
4. Will Highpoint learn the right skills?
Go and learn what this means! It was not about understanding but the skills we learn when we do.
You learn the mission of Jesus by doing!!!
You won't learn his mission by a class or sitting. Only by doing will you learn the mission of Jesus.

A post from School.

This was from a post at my school. I believe it had a strong point and wanted to share.

The church as a whole has come a long way from reaching out to the poor, sick, hungry, homeless, widows, and orphans. What are we called to do now? Are we to keep on going down this street that will lead to distraction or are we to stand up and be the change we know we need in the world. I just as much as anyone is to blame for where the church is headed. Your post moved me to ask questions about what am I, you, the people next to us doing to be the CHURCH that God called us to be. Lets return to our first love.

Making History

And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. 23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. 24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace. Acts 20:22-24

1) SPIRIT’S PROMPTING.

And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem…Acts 20:22

what Satan uses for evil God will use for his Good.

2) CERTAIN UNCERTAINTY.

…I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. Acts 20:22

When God prompts you he does not show you all the details. You will have to take a step of faith.

3) PREDICTABLE RESISTANCE.

I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. Acts 20:23
GOD might be trying to work in you then he might start working through you. Don't worry about resistance.

4) UNCOMMON CLARITY.

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus Christ has given me– the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace. Acts 20:24

HISTORY GOD'S GOOD - (true enemy) Satan

Difference we're good (enemy) outsider

Name I'm good (enemy) everyone

TALK IT OVER

Where might God be calling you to go from where you are right now to where He wants you to be?
Describe a time when you had a deo ho pneuma moment. How did you respond to the Spirit’s prompting?
What steps can you take to handle the predictable resistance you’ll face when you step out in obedience to God?
